Flying Through Hurricane Milton in VR with the F-14A Tomcat |n Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

In this thrilling VR flight, I took the F-14A Tomcat by IndiaFoxtEcho straight through the eye of Hurricane Milton, a Category 4 storm currently headed toward Florida’s Gulf Coast. Before I shut everything down to prepare for the storm, I wanted to experience the intensity firsthand in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The Setup
Flying in VR with the Next Level Racing Flight Simulator Pro rig, paired with the MOZA R9 Force Feedback Base and a Quest 3 VR headset (Pimax Crystal Light review coming after the storm), the immersion was incredible. Real-time weather effects like stormy winds, lightning, and turbulence were rendered smoothly thanks to my RTX 4090 setup. The F-14A Tomcat’s realistic flight dynamics only added to the intensity, making this one of my most unforgettable flights.

Stay Safe
For those in the path of Hurricane Milton, please take precautions. Stock up on emergency supplies and follow evacuation orders—safety comes first.

Have you flown through the storm?
Have you ever flown through a storm in a flight simulator? How does Microsoft Flight Simulator compare to others like X-Plane when it comes to real-time weather? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
