Why VTOL VR Stands Out

As a huge fan of VR flight simulation, I’ve tried numerous VR setups, but VTOL VR has truly blown me away. It offers an immersive experience that rivals even the renowned DCS (Digital Combat Simulator). While DCS is fantastic in VR, VTOL VR brings something unique to the table that keeps me coming back for more. The simplicity of not using ANY hardware other than my two VR controllers to manipulate everything in the cockpit is just an awesome experience. But the key is how fast you can enter a flight in VR and be up and flying. It is FAST but still immersive!

Easy On Your Wallet and PC

VTOL VR has low requirements to and can play on most PC. The simple graphics do NOT take away from the immersion but instead give you a much higher FPS than you expect. Also your wallet is happy because at $29.99 for VTOL VR you get so many hours of game play it pays for itself. Now, yes the newer aircraft are purchased separate they often go on sale and they bring amazing value for what you pay.

My Setup

I use the Quest 3 VR headset paired with the BOBO VR S3 Pro battery , which provides extended playtime and a comfortable fit for extended flight and I barely notice it is on! This setup enhances the overall experience, allowing me to get lost in the virtual skies without worrying about battery life and really improving my comfort and honestly the first upgrade anyone should do to their Quest 3. This is paired to a 12900k and RTX 4090 with a 6ghz Wifi Router.

Immersion in VTOL VR

The immersion in VTOL VR is unparalleled. The sensation of sitting in the cockpit, manipulating the controls, and engaging in intense dogfights is nothing short of exhilarating. Now add a solid team and folks backing you up in real time, this is truly next level. The realistic graphics and responsive controls make you feel like you’re really up there, soaring through the clouds and dodging enemy fire.

Visualize the Experience

For those who can’t watch the video right now, imagine this: you’re in the cockpit of a state-of-the-art fighter jet, every switch and lever at your fingertips. The sounds of the engines roar around you as you take off, the landscape stretches out below, RWR is going off and the sky is full of threats while the SA15 are firing off from the ground. Every maneuver, every battle feels real and immediate and coordinating this battle with a RIO in the back seat of the modern EF-24 (F-14) I keep coming back for more!

In this live multiplayer fight we engage 6 fighters and then attempt to intercept a flight of bombers attacking our carrier fleet. I hit BINGO fuel and almost didn’t make it!
